Obituary - Randall Lee German

Randall Lee German, age 58, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away at home on Thursday, January 14, 2021 surrounded by his loving family members.

A celebration of Randall’s life will be held on a later date with an inurnment held at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.

Randall was born in Flagler, Colorado to Kenley J. German and Lela Don (Fox) German on May 29, 1962. After graduating high school Randall began serving his country in the United States Navy. Randy entered the Navy as a Machinist Mate, where he was responsible for maintaining and operating a variety of complex machinery and assisting machinists in keeping all Navy craft in top working order. In life Randall was blessed with three children, Raymond, Richard, and Lynda. He was a mechanical genius as he could fix anything that required him to work with his hands. Randall was a man of faith, holding God, family, and friends over everything. Randall loved working in the garden and was a “bee whisperer” because when he would check on the hive, he would never suffer a sting.

Randall was preceded in death by his mother, Lela Don German; and sister in law, Shelley Renee (Elting) German.

He leaves behind his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Cathy German of Raymore, Missouri; father, Kenley J. German of Deshler, Nebraska; son Raymond Joseph German (Carolyn) of Belton, Missouri; son Richard German (Carter) and their children, Lincoln, Everly, and Kenley of McKenny, Texas; daughter, Lynda O’Dell (Jonathan) and their children, Vincent and Liam of Fort Polk, Louisiana; brother Craig German of Edgar, Nebraska; and sister Deborah Linn Zucker (David) of Deshler, Nebraska. He also leaves behind his family’s many furry companions and loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to MoHives KC at or HELP Humane, 17122 Bel-Ray Place, Belton, Missouri 64012.

El Dorado Springs man arrested in Bates County

On 1/17/21 around 1:14am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 28 year old Sebastian G. King of El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

Mr. King was arrested for 1.) Felony Driving While Intoxicated- Prior Offender. 

He was booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and he was later released.

Obituary - Peggy Jean Duncan

Peggy J. Duncan, 93, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Beautiful Savior Care Center in Belton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Private burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisonville Animal Shelter.

Obituary - Anthony "Tony" H. Thomas

Tony Thomas, 77, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at his home in Peculiar. 

Funeral services will be 11:00am Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, MO.

The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00am Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.
