The Montrose Lady 'Jays beat Drexel 53-48 to win the Class 1 District 8 Title. The girls will play in Sectionals on Wednesday. More information will be available soon about the sectionals game!

Obituary - Betty J. (Bunger) Mitchell

Betty J. Mitchell, 91, of Pleasant Hill, departed this life, Friday, February 26, 2021, at her home surrounded with love and family.

Funeral services are pending under the care of Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Grass Fire in Amsterdam

The Amsterdam Fire Department along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies are in route to a grass fire behind McBee's General Store in Amsterdam at this time.

2021 Missouri Statewide Tornado Drill

Missouri’s 2021 statewide tornado drill will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 10 a.m. In case of severe weather on the day of the drill, it will be moved to Thursday, March 4 at 10 a.m. 

This is an opportunity for Missourians to practice their sheltering plans and ensure readiness in case of a severe weather emergency while at home, work or school.

Dense Fog Advisory until 10am

A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 10AM Saturday. Areas of dense fog is likely, reducing visibilities down to a quarter mile or less. Areas of patchy fog is also likely this morning for surrounding areas.

Cheryl Kenney was last seen at work at a convenience store on business 71 Highway in Nevada, Missouri, on the evening of February 27, 1991. Her time card showed she clocked out at 10:00, but she did not arrive home. Her car was left in the store parking lot. Cheryl has a unique tooth pattern.
