On 1/21 around 10:12 a.m. the Nevada Fire Department responded to a structure fire call of a detached garage on fire in the back yard of a residential home belonging to Daniel Hill at 1010 E. Allison in Nevada.Due to cold weather conditions the first hydrant the crews tried was frozen and were unable to use.
A second hydrant had to be used which caused a delay in the water supply. City of Nevada Crews had to be called in to assist with the overhaul due to the collapse of the garage. One firefighter had a shoulder injury and he was treated at the scene.
