David was united in marriage to Leone Reck on September 2, 1960. David worked in farming or trucking his entire life. He was a member of the Pleasanton First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Alice, a grandson, Matthew, and two brothers, Wendell and Jonathon Hammar.
David is survived by his wife, Leone, four daughters, Cindy Woody, Alisa Bonham, Donna Jean Hicks, and Paula Romang, ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Robert III, Sarah, Kara, Jennifer, Reilly, David, Melanie, Lacey, and Luke, and nine great grandchildren, Eli, Sophie, Alex, Hayden, Harley, Olivia, Sawyer, Jameson, and Jackson.
