Obituary - Jerold Wayne Fowler

Jerold (Jerry) Wayne Fowler, age 68 of Adrian, MO, passed away Sunday, January 23, at his home, in the presence of his loving family.

Jerry was born April 8, 1953 to Jerold (Buddy) Burton Fowler and Erma “Darlene” (Crowder) Fowler of Clinton, MO. He attended Bethlehem one room schoolhouse by Sparrow Foot Creek. He then started his freshman year at Clinton High school. Then halfway through his freshman year he moved with his parents to Adrian in 1968. After graduating high school from Adrian in 1971 , he went to work on the farm.

Jerry married Vickie Thomas on February 22, 1975 in Butler, MO. To this union, three children were born: JaNell, JaNetta and Jeri Lynn. On April 5, 2006 Jerry was baptized. Jerry loved row crop farming. He loved all seasons of farming but harvesting a good corn crop was his favorite. For many years he sold seed for many different seed companies and received numerous awards
for his salesmanship.

He also fed hundreds of cattle. For several years, his cattle accomplished the rate of gain record in Kansas where he went from the Flint Hills to the feed yard at HRC in Scott City, KS. This accomplishment helped promote the feed yard for HRC. When the grandkids would come and visit, they enjoyed being his co-pilot checking and feeding the cattle. Since he enjoyed working with his cattle, he was a member of the Bates County Cattlemen's where he then served as President for several years. He also enjoyed pulling antique tractors. His pride and joy was the first tractor he purchased to farm with, which was a John Deere 4020. On days when he did decide to slow down, he enjoyed quail hunting, fishing, driving backroads, and playing with his grandkids.

Survivors include his wife Vickie, of the home; three daughters, JaNell (Brad) Ferguson, JaNetta (Jess) Daniels and Jeri Lynn (J.R.) Fowler; four grandchildren, Clayton, Callie & Cale Ferguson and Ty Carroll; a sister, Janet Gaylord; a brother, Kevin Fowler; nieces, nephews, other
family and a host of friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
