Hume Area News

Our community has been saddened by the loss of many community members and friends these past few months. Shirley Brooks-King, Peggy Corp, Lennie Dale, Bob Mogan, Cecil McKinley, Barb Dennis and Scott Collier. All of these people had an impact on our community. Our prayers go out to the families. They all will be greatly missed.

School will soon be out lots of activities are going on. Seniors had a great time spending a week in Florida. The Quiz Bowl did outstanding winning Conference Champs. The Science Olympiad was selected to go to State. We are extremely proud of all these kids in their accomplishments.

The Hume PTO will be holding their Annual PTO Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 16 at the Hume City Park for ages 0 – 10 years old. Sign-ups will be at the Hume Legion Hall at 9:30 a.m. with the hunt to start at 10:00 a.m.

The Hume Alumni Committee has been meeting to plan on the Hume Alumni. The Hume Alumni is Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.. We have selected a different date this year to encourage alumni members to join us in visiting and having a great time. Normally we have always met on Memorial Weekend. Please take note of the new date. We hope to see everyone there.

The Hume United Methodist Church has been having a great time with Kid’s Klub every Wednesday. We all enjoy the kiddos so much.

Easter Breakfast at the Methodist Church will be held at 8:00 a.m. with Easter Services to start at 9:30 a.m. There will be no 10:30 a.m. service. Michael Wriston will be preaching on Easter Sunday. Pastor Eric will have a sermon online later on Sunday afternoon. If you do not have a home Church we invite you to join us. We are blessed in our community to have three Churches that will all welcome you with open arms.
