Update: Kansas City Kansas truck driver escapes serious injury in Bates County rollover accident

On June 23rd around 10:30 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County EMS, Butler Fire Department and Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a semi truck rollover accident in the southbound lanes of I-49 near mile marker 125.4 in rural Bates County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2019 International Semi driven by 30 year old Tjuan M. Dean of Kansas City, Kansas traveled off the left side of the roadway, overcorrected before returning to the roadway and overturning.

Mr. Dean sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

This accident caused a major traffic delay on southbound I-49 for several hours. The mess was cleaned up by J's Southland Tow. 

The roadway is back open at this hour.
