Obituary - Lois Irene (Schmitt) Morlok

The SERVICE for Lois will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Hill & Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, Missouri.

VISITATION will precede the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. BURIAL will be in Westfield Cemetery, rural Appleton City. MEMORIAL donations are suggested to the First Christian Church.

Lois Irene (Schmitt) Morlok was born on September 27, 1923 in rural Henry County to Lawrence and Alma (Teshner) Schmitt. She was raised on a farm east of Appleton City, Missouri, where she lived all her life. She attended White Hall, Johnson City, and Appleton City Schools. Shortly after completing her education, she married William “Bill” Morlok and to this union 3 children were born: Paulette Sue, Dennis Roger, and Gary Douglas.

Throughout her life, Lois was very active in the First Christian Church in Appleton City, where she served as the women’s fellowship secretary, sang in the choir, and taught Sunday School. One of her greatest passions was quilting and she made many for her family and friends during her life. She further enjoyed gardening and raising chickens on the farm. She will always be remembered as a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who cherished times spent with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Alma (Teshner) Schmitt; her husband, William “Bill” Morlok; a daughter, Paulette Morris; her siblings Anthony, Geraldine, Mildred, Bobby Lee, Norma Jane.

Lois is survived by her children: Dennis Roger (Jackie) Morlok, Gary Douglas (Patty) Morlok and son-in-law, Norman Morris; grandchildren: Abby (John) Vanderhoofven, Zeb (Rachelle) Morlok, Jacob (Caitlin) Morlok, Amy (Scott) Godke, Chris (Kendi) Morlok; twelve great-grandchildren; along with many extended family and friends, who will miss her deeply.
