Situation this morning in Louisburg Kansas

Today, July 3rd 2022, the Louisburg Police Department with the assistance of the Louisburg Fire Department, Miami County Sheriff's Office and Miami County EMS were called upon to locate the family members of a young boy who had wandered away from his uncle's home.

The young boy, a four year old from Belton, Missouri was in Louisburg spending time with his uncle, when he managed to walk away from the home. He was found by some concerned citizen's near N. 14th Street and Metcalf Road, who contacted the Police.

Since the boy was not from Louisburg, he was unfamiliar with his uncle's address and could not guide the Police or Deputies who had arrived to assist back to his uncle's home. Additional first responders from Louisburg Fire Department arrived to assist, and after checking with numerous residences in the vicinity, the boys family was eventually located.

The young boy was checked by Miami County EMS to make sure he was okay, and he was eventually turned over to his Father who responded from Belton, MO to pick him up.

The Louisburg Police Department would like to thank the Louisburg Fire Department, Miami County Sheriff's Office, Miami County EMS and the community members who helped get this young boy back with his family. Thank You!
