Nevada Police make arrest after concerned citizen reports suspicious activity

On August 17, 2022 at approximately 3:02 p.m., Nevada Police were dispatched to the area of the 500 block of W. South Street in regards to a concerned citizen reporting suspicious activity. It was reported a younger female was interacting with an adult male and displaying unusual behavior that led the citizen to notify law enforcement.

Upon arrival, officers were able to locate the two subjects in question. Upon further investigation it was discovered the female was a juvenile. Officer’s uncovered evidence at the scene that led to the arrest of the male subject for illegal sexual contact with the
juvenile.

Nevada Police took the male subject into custody and transported him to the Vernon County Jail for holding. The investigation remains ongoing. The suspect has been identified as follows:

Uriyah A. Trelearan, age 31 of Nevada, MO.

On August 18, 2022, the following charges were filed against Uriyah A. Trelearan through the Vernon County Associate Court:

One (1) Count of Sexual Abuse 1st Degree - Class C Felony
One (1) Count of Child Molestation 4th Degree - Class E Felony

Mr. Trelearan is being held in the Vernon County Jail in lieu of a $150,000 cash only bond. Citizens are encouraged to contact the police if they have any information that would be helpful to combat crime.
