Duane D. Lipe, age 54, of Calhoun, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral service with military honors will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton, Missouri visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM prior to the service with cremation to follow. Memorial contributions can be made to the Missouri Veterans Home (Canteen Fund) in Warrensburg, Missouri and can be left in care of the funeral home.
Duane graduated in 1987 from Calhoun High School and joined the Army Reserve his junior year. From there he went on to serve in the Army and was in Desert Storm. He married Vickie Hill in 1989 and had two daughters, Nichole and Amber.
He was a truck driver for over 20 years. Then became a heavy equipment mechanic working for Kissik, George Shaw, JA Lillig and his last years he was a member of the local 101 working for Larry Brown Excavating. Duane later married Mashell LeClaire on October 6, 2012.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding and spending time with family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren.
Duane was a volunteer fireman for the Calhoun Fire District. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. He touched many lives and he never met a stranger; he was always willing to help whether it was a stranger broke down on the road or a friend or family member. His famous saying when he stopped to help someone was “just pay it forward”.
Duane is preceded in death by his father, James Cleon Lipe, his grandparents; James H. and Opal Lipe and Blanche Strokes.
Survivors include his wife Mashell Lipe of Calhoun, Missouri, his mother Juanita Larney (Danny) of Henryetta, Oklahoma, four children; Nichole Lipe of Jefferson City, Missouri, Amber (Noah) Lipe of Jefferson City, Missouri, Mindy Richard of Jefferson City, Missouri and Brittany Gresham (Callie) of Blue Springs, Missouri, two brothers; Jimmy Lipe (Donna) of Windsor, Missouri, Tim Lipe (Loree) of Clinton, Missouri, 9 grandchildren; Sophia, Cameron, Noel, Opal, Anthony, Anaya, Myleigh, Easton and Dana, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and his two little dogs, Presley and Morgan. Presley was his buddy the two of them went everywhere, they were inseparable.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
