BHS Cross Country Team headed to Bolivar today

The BHS Cross Country Team headed to Bolivar today for the SWCCCA Richard Clark Invitational. On the girls side, we had four competing.

The girls were led by junior Cadence Turney with a time of 23:28. Following Cadence was senior Gillian Dowell with a time of 24:17, senior Brielle Campbell with a 28:08, and sophomore Avery Eldred with a time of 29:21. Cadence (11th place) and Gillian (17th place) both medaled for Class 2. The girls put out a good race for the start of the season and really pushed themselves throughout the rave.

On the boys side we had five boys competing. They were led by freshman Brandon Hammett with a time of 18:44. This time is also a NEW SCHOOL RECORD!

Following Brandon were seniors Jake Cox with a time of 20:16, Jerrun Kennedy with a time of 21:25, and Andrew Clutter with a time of 22:10. Bringing in the pack was sophomore Kenny Waring with a time of 24:00.

The boys placed 4th out of all Class 2 schools and had two medalists. Brandon Hammett, 10th place, and Jake Cox 21st place. The boys really showed what their summer training was all for. They went out there and competed!

Natalee Kennedy was our lone junior high runner. She ran a strong race with a time of 14:58. Next weekend we head up to Rep-Pec for our next meet!
