Bob Glen Brunner was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on December 13, 1953, to Edward F. and Velva J. (Graham) Brunner. Bob attended school in the Belton School District, graduating in May of 1971. He started working for the City of Harrisonville as a meter reader in 1973 and was promoted to Chief Water Plant Operator in 1986. He worked for the City of Harrisonville for20-plus years.
Bob married his wife, Alice Jean Beason, on August 16, 1975, in Belton, Missouri. Together they raised two children; son, Scott Wesley Brunner, born on December 30, 1976, and daughter, Emily Deanne Brunner, born on January 17, 1980. For 47 years, Bob and Alice made their life and home in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Bob dedicated his life to the lord with the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church, his family, and his community. Bob was a volunteer Firefighter and EMT for over 50 years. He served from 1971 to date with Belton Fire Department, Harrisonville Fire Department, Central Cass, East Lynne/Gunn City, and Sheldon Fire Department. In addition, Bob devoted much of his time to being a Cub Scout Troop Leader for Troop 3, the 4-H Club “Lucky Clover,” and “Wal-Center.” Bob loved to spend time with his grandchildren, shop hopping, auctions with his wife, Alice, and having a good conversation with good company. Bob considered his best friends, Jeffrey & Shirley Bullard, as family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Edward F. and Velva J. (Graham) Brunner, and his daughter, Emily (Brunner) Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Alice Brunner of the home; his son, Scott Brunner and wife, Juli Brunner, of Harrisonville; grandchildren: Alexis Taylor and fiancé, Steven Richardson, Kristopher Taylor and girlfriend, Andrea Wisely, Hailey Brunner, Tyler Driskill, and Gabriel Driskill; Aunt Viola Stevens; and siblings: Gary Brunner, David Brunner, Daniel Brunner, Cindy (Brunner) Ball, Linda (Brunner) Newkirk, and Becky (Brunner) McCrary.
