Obituary - Elsie Elaine McGehee

Funeral services for Elsie McGehee of Olathe, Kansas will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.

Elsie Elaine McGehee, age 77 of Olathe, Kansas died Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Butler Center in Butler, Missouri. She was born December 5, 1944 to Elbert Luco and Lois Neely McGehee in Douglas, Wyoming.

Elsie, one of six children, grew up in Douglas, Wyoming. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1963 and attended KCCBS, (Kansas Christian College) and the Conservatory of Music at UMKC. She was very talented in piano and had a beautiful singing voice. Elsie worked for Hallmark Cards and Farmer’s Insurance Group and was a caregiver in private homes. Her last job before retiring was with Comfort Keepers.

Elsie enjoyed many things in her spare time . . . playing the piano, singing, reading, cooking and keeping her apartment clean. She loved her Lord and leaves many wonderful memories for her family to cherish. She attended the Church of God (Holiness) in Olathe, Kansas.

Elsie is survived by five siblings, Ella Marie McClendon of Quapaw, Oklahoma, Elbert Neely McGehee and wife Cathy of Butler, Missouri, Lucille Schinzel and husband Jerome of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Melba Brewer and husband Gary of Arkansas City, Kansas and Ruth Warren and husband Dave of Pleasanton, Kansas; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents Elbert and Lois McGehee; and two brothers-in-law, Don Rasco and Garry McClendon.
