One killed, Two seriously injured in Cass County crash

On September 25th around 1:53 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies and Belton Police Department responded to a two vehicle accident on Route D at 166th Street in rural Belton.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the southbound 1997 Honda driven by 44 year old Charles A. Puhr of Grandview, Missouri was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck the 1984 Chevrolet driven by 48 year old Chad D. Bilyeu of Belton, Missouri.

Charles A. Puhr was pronounced dead a few hours later at Belton Regional Medical Center.

Chad D. Bilyeu along with a passenger in his vehicle 48 year old Kristen L. Bilyeu both sustained serious injuries in this accident and both were transported to Belton Regional Medical Center for treatment. 

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the accident scene by J's Southland Tow. This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 46th Fatality accident of the year 2022.
