September 20, 2022 – BELTON, Mo. – The Belton Planning Commission approved a final development plan for Scooter’s Coffee at 211 E. North Avenue. Jack Burdick, franchisee, is investing over $700,000 into a 665 square-foot drive-thru coffee shop, which is anticipated to be operational in spring 2023.
“The location offers high visibility with high traffic counts in the heart of Belton,” said Jack Burdick, Scooter’s Coffee franchisee. This project will be the first new commercial development east of 163rd Street since the creation of two critical redevelopment areas: the North Scott Corridor Plan (2014) and more recently, the Old Town Belton Redevelopment Plan (2021).
“Scooter’s Coffee is a catalyst, encouraging investment in undeveloped and underutilized properties,” said Carolyn Yatsook, economic development director.
“We are excited for this first new construction project to utilize the Old Town Belton Redevelopment Plan, which will go before City Council for approval.”
