The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2022 Peterbilt dump truck driven by 56 year old Troy S. Lauffer of Kansas City, Missouri struck the rear of the 2021 Ford F-650 driven by 47 year old Douglas E. Bentley of Knob Noster, Missouri.
Douglas E. Bentley was pronounced dead at Belton Regional Medical Center at 2:22 a.m. This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 57th Fatality of the year 2022.
Both trucks were totaled and towed from the scene of this accident by J's Southland Tow.
