One injured after vehicle strikes deer in the roadway in Vernon County

On October 8th around 12:55 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 43 Highway around 8 miles south of Liberal, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says accident occurred when the 2001 Oldsmobile Alero driven by 56 year old Kelly G. Compton of Liberal, Missouri struck a deer in the roadway.

A passenger in the vehicle 62 year old Beverly M. Compton of Liberal, Missouri sustained moderate injuries and she was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
