Update: One injured in Miami County Kansas plane crash

On October 12, 2022 at 2:49 PM, the Miami County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call that a plane had crashed near a local airport.
 
At the time of the call the exact location was not known and communication will the caller was lost. Multiple Deputies responded to multiple area airports, both public and private in an attempt to locate the plane. A short time later, a Deputy located the airplane in a field, southwest of 319th Street and Moonlight Road.
 
The pilot, an adult male, was the only occupant in the plane and sustained minor injuries from the crash. He was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
 
The investigation into the crash is being handled by the Kansas Highway Patrol and all additional media inquires should be directed to them.
