Update: Three sent to hospital after multiple vehicle accident north of Adrian

On October 13th around 5:45 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies, Adrian Police Department, Adrian Fire Department, Bates County EMS and Butler Fire Department responded to a multiple vehicle accident in the northbound lanes of  I-49 just north of the Route E and AA Exit north of Adrian.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2022 Freightliner driven by 32 year old Antonio R. Coleman of Mobile, Alabama failed to slow down for a previous accident and struck the rear of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler driven by 77 year old Ronald L. Christopher of Overland Park, Kansas causing the Jeep to strike the rear end of a 2013 Ford Escape driven by 52 year old Stacy A. Minks of Rich Hill. After crashing the semi traveled off the left side of the roadway and through the median before coming to a rest in the ditch line of the southbound lane of I-49. 

Ronald L. Christopher along with a passenger in his vehicle 75 year old Jolene K. Christopher both sustained moderate injuries and both were transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment. 

Stacy A. Minks sustained moderate injuries and she was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment as well.

After a lengthy clean up the vehicle were towed by J's Southland Tow and Adrian Tow.
