Very busy weekend for many local fire departments

A very busy weekend for many local fire departments.

Friday the Compton Junction Fire Department assisted the Rich Hill FD, Nevada FD Butler FD, The Bates County Sheriffs Office, and kind neighbors on a out of control fire south of Rich Hill.

After 6.5 hours on scene we were able to contain a large brush fire at TT & 1600Rd. Saturday we were requested for mutual aid to Rich Hill FD on a moving brush fire.

Sunday at 9pm the fire at Rich hill rekindled resulting a rapidly moving brush fire toward town. Several agencies were able to control before comprising any structures.

At 12am we were dispatched to a working grass fire one mile north of Compton Junction on conservation. Thank you for the assistance Deerfield, Milo, Nevada, Walker, and Rich Hill.

A lot of handwork was used to access the timber along with two sides. Awesome job to everyone to get this controlled without any property damage. Total hours of calls this weekend was 20 with approx. 300 acres.
