Hazel K. Hopkins, age 101 of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022.
A private graveside service will be held at Buckner Hill Cemetery in Buckner, Missouri on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and family members.
Hazel was born on December 19, 1920 to her parents, William Johnson and Lela (Hudspeth) Johnson of Independence, Missouri. In life, Hazel taught vocational home economics mainly at William Chrisman High School and Van Horn High School in Independence, Missouri. Through the years Hazel frequently expressed her love of children, especially her 2 grandchildren, she loved to cook and she had a great passion for travel, visiting over 140 countries in the world.
Hazel was preceded in death by her loving husband Travis Vern Hopkins; parents, William and Lela Hopkins; sister, Mary Marjorie Hughes; and brother, Russell Johnson.
She is survived by her son Jack David and wife Connie Konomos Hopkins of Raymore, Missouri; grandchildren Heather Hopkins of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Travis Hopkins of Kansas City, Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Christmas Staff fund at Foxwood Springs as a thank you from Hazel. Please mail a check to Foxwood Springs 1500 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083, making the check out to Foxwood Springs and indicating in the memo “Associate Holiday Fund”
