JJ took great pride in being a father. His daughter was his entire world. When she was with him, he never took his eyes off her and his smile never left his face.
JJ had a million-dollar smile, a smile that could light up the room. He inherited that smile from his father. He and his father were inseparable. They spent as much time as they could in the woods. Hunting and fishing were their thing, and he had the mounts to prove it.
JJ and his sister Sabrina had an unbreakable bond. He was the best big brother to all his siblings. JJ may or may not have been a little overprotective at times.
Everyone that had the privilege of knowing JJ would say that he was a kindhearted, loyal friend. He was always up for a good time.
JJ’s last request was that it be known that he loved each and every person in his life.
He was preceded in death by: his Father, Joshiah Ruston; grandmother, Denis Rock; grandfather, Dwight “David” Terry; and uncle, Tim Rock.
He is survived by: his fiancé, Haley; daughter, Brynly Jo; mother, Christina Shaddon; his siblings, Sabrina Ruston, Naudia Ruston, Randall Barnard, Katelyn Terry; Grandfather Robert Rock; his grandparents, Dixie and Clyde Haddock, and David and Deborah Garwood; great-grandmother, Agratha Daniels; aunts, Misty and Danielle; uncles; cousins, Jesse, Landon, Dusty, Nikolai, Luke, Damian, Garrett, Tomecka, and Blake; and many friends.
