Visitation for Larry Huey will be between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Hill and Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, Missouri.
A graveside service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri.
Officiating at the service will be Pastor David Hill. Interment will be in Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri. The family suggests any memorial donations be given to Appleton City Cemetery or Heartland Hospice.
Larry Duane Huey “Gator”, of Appleton City, Missouri departed this life on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the age of 79, after several months of declining health. He passed peacefully with his wife, Karen, and his family by his side.
Larry was born February 21, 1943 to Robbins Huey and Alma Huey Phinney. He graduated from Appleton City High School class of 1961. He married Karen Clark on June 6, 1964 and they were blessed with a daughter, Kerri Huey Dutcher.
Larry was a hard worker and devoted family man. He was employed as a truck driver for most of his life for Andersen Windows and after retirement he continued to work mowing Appleton City Cemetery which he took great pride in.
In his younger days he loved to play cards, Visit with his friends and take vacations at the lake with his family. As he got older, he and Karen enjoyed NASCAR racing and attended many races throughout the years. Larry thought the world of his grandsons, Logan and Brady Dutcher, and was always involved in their lives.
Larry is survived by Karen, his wife of 58 years; his daughter Kerri (Clint) Dutcher; two grandsons, Logan and Brady Dutcher; nephew Trent (Cindy) Beebe; two great nephews, Tyler and Chase Beebe; and many friends.
