In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant brother Marion Eugene Pogue, sister Doris Ogan and nephew Jimmy Pogue.

Being baptized into the Bethlehem Baptist Church community, after the closing of Bethlehem Baptist Church he moved his membership to Clinton Baptist Temple and then Northeast Baptist Church. At Northeast Baptist Church he served as a deacon. Edwin served in the Army Reserve and then the Air Force for six total years. During his Air Force duty, he was stationed in Germany and France. After returning from overseas service, he met his soon to be wife Delores on the Clinton Downtown Square.

Edwin had a love for family and a passion for Bethlehem Cemetery, ultimately spending many hours taking care of the grounds as his father George did. Serving as a cemetery board member, he was instrumental in expanding the cemetery onto where the former Bethlehem Baptist Church once stood.

He expanded on the ancestral history of his parents, grandparents and great grandparents buried in the original Bethlehem cemetery. He developed a profound passion for family history, as this was shown to be a favorite pastime of his. Edwin worked with other family members to research the family history passed to him by his father, George. The family lineage was extended back to Scotland and then Normandy France to the year 1082.

Edwin did not meet a stranger that he couldn’t talk to and always enjoyed sharing a laugh with all. Forever will his positive, affectious attitude be remembered by all who knew him, friends and family alike.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
