She was born November 4, 1925 in Beaver County Oklahoma to Jess Edward and Pearl Evelyn (Clarke) Jacobs. Jean grew up in the Oklahoma panhandle during the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. She loved sharing stories of those times.
Jean was united in marriage to Archie Dean Barnett on May 14, 1944 while he was serving in the Army Air Corps. They had three children, Linda, Larry and Merrie. Dean passed away on December 14, 1964. She then married Harvey Addleman on May 28, 1966 and moved to Merwin, Missouri.
Jean was a very talented seamstress, quilter and artisan. She made everything from doll clothes to wedding dresses, along with toys, quilts and afghans. She and Harvey loved woodworking and refinishing and reupholstering furniture together. Many of her family and friends were blessed to receive some of their handiwork.
