Mary Elizabeth Rankin Barton was born November 11, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri to Henry and Mary Ham Rankin.
She grew up in the Kansas City area and attended West Port Schools. Unfortunately, life sent her another direction and she was not able to graduate, but was very proud to have earned her GED much later in life. Mary worked for 20 plus years for the Kansas City Venture stores, mostly in the café. Upon their closing, she spent five years working in security for Sprint. She loved her family and very much enjoyed when they were all together. Mary loved games, puzzles, knitting, and the popular crime sitcoms of the time.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary Lee Barton, Sr., infant sister Tiny, brothers, Estel, Marion Joe, and Richard, and three sisters-in-law, Cathy, Theresa, and Doris, along with a daughter-in-law Deanna Barton.
She is survived by her three children, Michael Jay, Charlotte Vincent and husband Estes, and Gary Barton, Jr. Mary also leaves behind four grandchildren, Christapher Vincent, Jacob Waton, Lynnlee Barton, and Adam Waton, two brothers, Fred Rankin, and Harold Rankin, daughter-in-law Christina Springer, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
