In 1949, she married Bill Higgins, she then married E.K. Swor on Febuary 9, 1954 in Bourbon County, Kansas, he preceded her in death on January 9, 1981. On January 23, 1988, she married Howard Stutes at Redfield, Kansas, he preceded her in death on November 22, 2006.
Mary worked at Klein's Department Store in Kansas City, Kansas as a packer and moved on to Key Industries in Fort Scott, Kansas for 37 years until her retirement as a utility operator. Mary enjoyed the outdoors especially working in her garden and in her yard. She loved fishing and baking, her specialty was her pies.
She is also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Earl Jr, John and Del Walker, and sister-in-law, Betty Walker. Mary is survived by two sons, Ron Higgins (Kathy), and Mike Swor, two stepsons, Howard Stutes (Vickie) and Ron Stutes (Penny), one step daughter, Carolyn Moore, six grandchildren, Justin Higgins, Shon Stutes, David Stutes, Tim Stutes (Tina), Angela Perry (Ty) and Ricka Stutes, twelve great grandchildren, Skylar Inscore, Arial Perry, Tiffany Irvin, Nathan Stutes, Abby Irvin, Savannah Bellamy, Hailey Stutes, Taylor Stutes, Ian Smith, Mike Stutes, Eli Stutes and Trenton Gabrial, eight great great grandchilren, Elijah Bellamy, Penelope Atkins, Marianne Atkins, Minnie Atkins, Orion Seely, Jaxsen Irvin, Feenix Stutes and Spencer Stutes.
Graveside Service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will from 10 am until leaving for the cemetery at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.
