Obituary - Richard K. Weaver

Richard K. Weaver, 80, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Monday morning, December 19, 2022 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Mo. He was born January 7, 1942 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the son of Kenneth Wilbur Weaver and Eleanor Josephine (Hartigan) Weaver.

Richard was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Loughren on February 24, 1962 in Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania. She preceded him in death on April 2, 2018.

He served his country for over 20 years with the United States Air Force. He served in various capacities during his service, among them being a combat photographer. He served two years in Vietnam. Following his combat service he became one of the top Air Force recruiters, receiving numerous recruitment accolades for several years in succession. He was a distinguished graduate of the NCO Academy. Richard retired as Master Sergeant from the Air Force in 1980 at Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.

Following his military service he continued his education, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Public Administration and graduating Summa Cum Laude with his Masters of Psychology degree from Troy State University, Montgomery, Alabama.

Richard was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Clinton, Mo. He was an avid collector and trader of coins, ball cards and stamps. As a public servant at heart, he assisted people with their taxes at the Clinton Senior Center. He just enjoyed helping people, and never met a stranger. In his spare time he enjoyed raising a garden, bird watching and working in the yard.

Surviving are one son, Richard K. Weaver, Carrollton, Georgia; two daughters, Lynn Elizabeth Ivie (Jimmy), Clinton, Mo., and Tracy Ann Weaver, Clinton, Mo.; three grandsons, Cody W. Ivie, Vicenza, Italy, Clay J. Ivie, Ramstein AFB, Germany and Max C. Weaver, Carrollton, Ga; one brother, Kenneth James Weaver (Carol), Hamden, Connecticut; four brothers-in-law, Louie Loughren (Sandy), Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Jay Loughren (Pati), Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Jack Loughren (Kathy), St. Louis, Mo., and Jerry Loughren (Mary Ellen), Frisco, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Beth, preceding him in death are one son, Christopher Leo Weaver on March 3, 2007, and his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2022 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Clinton with Father Jim Taranto, Celebrant. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo.
