One dead after accident in Barton County

On December 17th around 10:35 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Barton County along with Barton County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on US 160 around 7 miles east of Lamar.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the westbound 2011 Honda CRV driven by 23 year old Brett J. Walton of Lockwood, Missouri ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

Mr. Walton was pronounced dead at Cox Barton County Hospital at 10:56 p.m. and he was transported to Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar.

This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 130th fatality of the year 2022.
