Happy Retirement Laura!

Laura Westhusin, assistant principal at Belton Middle School, announced she is retiring at the end of the school year.

During its closed session, the Board approved the next assistant principal for BMS. Megan Agnor, current assistant principal at Kentucky Trail Elementary, will be one of the assistant principals at BMS beginning July 1.

A Belton High School graduate, Agnor came back to BSD #124 in 2018 as a first-grade teacher at Wilckens STEAM Academy at Hillcrest, before transitioning to Kentucky Trail. She says she will miss the family-like and supportive atmosphere of Kentucky Trail, but she is most excited to work with the wonderful staff and students at BMS. She is looking forward to being a part of the BMS team.

BMS Principal Jennifer Paschall said, “We are excited to welcome Megan to the BMS staff. I am most looking forward to tapping into her expertise in instructional strategies for student engagement and her enthusiasm for growing leadership skills for everyone around her. She is passionate about doing what is best for all students, and she will go the extra mile for those students.”

Agnor is working toward her doctoral degree from St. Louis University, she received her master’s degrees from Kansas State University and Avila University, and she earned her bachelor’s degree from Columbia College.
