Obituary - Candace “Candi” Louise Hughes

Candace “Candi” Louise Hughes, age 61 of Butler, Missouri died Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born August 25, 1961 in Richmond, Missouri.

Candi grew up in Glenaire and Liberty, Missouri. In her adult years, she spent her time living between Butler, Missouri and Black Foot, Idaho. Candi was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked at Adrian Manor in Adrian, Missouri and Willow Lane Nursing Home in Butler, Missouri. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Butler.

Candi was known to be kind-hearted, fun, giving and a loving mother who put everyone before herself. She was an avid Chiefs fan and did her best to spread the Chiefs Kingdom into Black Foot. Candi loved spending time, fishing and playing games with her grandchildren and family. She enjoyed the mountains at Black Foot.

Candi is survived by one son, Alonso Chairez and wife Sam of Butler, Missouri; three grandchildren, Abigail, Ayden and Easton Chairez; her father and mother, Charlie and Loretta Hughes of Liberty, Missouri; seven siblings, Dianna Brandon of Kansas City, Kansas, Lori Register and Cindy O’Neil both of Black Foot, Idaho, Marvin Misner of Kansas City, Missouri, Cathy Carver of Butler, Missouri, Sarah Hughes of Seattle, Washington, and Aaron Hughes of Tokyo, Japan; a niece who was like a daughter, Ashley Luker and husband T.J. and their family of Black Foot, Idaho; and many other nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Mary Appleberry; and a sister, Lisa Dillion.
