Memorial services will be on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO, with the visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Inurnment will be at a later date in Everett Cemetery in Archie, MO.
Ted was born into this world on September 24, 1952 to the parents of Donald and Bobbie Sue (Davenport) Davis in Kansas City, MO. Ted was a gentle giant. A true hippy to the core. He loved God, his family, his friends, his pets, his hair, nature, art, music and movies. Ted loved to reflect on memories of the times he starred in low-budget horror films, his time in rock bands, making albums and CDs, and the genre of music he invented he called "Wavy Rock", to name a few.
Ted also had a passion for cannabis. He wanted to spread the word about how important cannabis was to him and why. His use of medicinal flower and RSO was his saving grace at times when the pain was unbearable. He said having a conversation with an ER nurse about this, made him realize he was not alone. They wanted to fight for the same cause. To allow medicinal use of cannabis in hospitals for patients such as him. In his name, we will try to make that a reality.
For those of you who knew him and even those of you who did not, if you are able to, have a toke in the name of Ted Davis. It is what he would have wanted. Share with one another the great memories. Enjoy your time on this Earth and "Rock On" as he did every day. Take comfort in knowing he's smokin' his never-ending doobie in heaven surrounded by peace, love, and hippies. We love him so, and he will be greatly missed.
Ted is preceded in death by his father, Don Davis; mother, Bobbie Sue Davis; grandchild, Nichlos Davis; best friend, LeRoy Powell; and his beloved furry pets. He is survived by his daughters: Melanie Davis of Kansas City, MO; and Celeste Davis of Lone Jack, MO; family and friends: Jennifer Borden, Larry Hess, Jack Norris, and Fuzzy, all of Archie, MO.
