Carol was born December 23, 1961 in Aurora, CO to Joseph and Izetta L. (Sutcliffe) Person. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Stanley on August 25, 2015 in Miami, OK and he survives of the home.
Carol, the daughter of an Air Force Pilot, lived in Germany, and Chicago, IL, and then came to a farm in Vernon County at a young age with her family. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1980. Carol worked at various restaurants, and at several nursing homes as a nutritionist, and also as a home health aide. She had a love of plants and flowers and especially enjoyed gardening. Carol loved “Jesus” and being with her family.
In addition to her husband Kenneth of the home she is survived by four children: James Hites (Crystal), Lamar, Emily Jacobs (Landon), Nevada, Carol Hites, Fayetteville, AR, and Dana Hites, Fayetteville, AR; nine grandchildren, James Hites, Takota Hites, Joe Jacobs, Esmé Jacobs, Danielle Cooper, Danté Cooper, Dashae Cooper, Jestina Skelton, and Ashton Morrow; four great-grandchildren, Zane, Kaíeem, Kamirah, and Cayden; her mother, Izetta Person, Nevada; two brothers, Joe Person (Shirley), Nevada, and Tony Person, Nevada; one sister, Dora Sons, Nevada; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; and her late husband, Mike Collier.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
